Bill & Joan Rinehart

Getting to know us:

We are natives of the Pottstown, PA area.  We were married in December 1961 and have three children and seven grandchildren. We were first called by God to missionary work in 1987 in Pocahontas, Mississippi with the ministry of Friends of Alcoholics. In the fall of 1992 we went to Philadelphia to serve God in the inner-city at Bethel Temple Community Bible Church and the Proclaimers of Hope Ministry, located in the Kensington community.

We were introduced to the SPADE ministry and Howard and Charlotte McFarland in 1999.  In the fall of that year we brought our first inner-city group here for a retreat.  That was the beginning of many visits to SPADE.    On March 1, 2004, the directorship of SPADE International was passed to us from the McFarlands.  What a joy it is to live in The Inn of Hope and serve our Lord through this unique ministry.  We love meeting people from around the world.

Our mission objective is to refresh people who come to SPADE through hospitality, sharing God's Word and presenting Christ.  We also educate visitors from 3rd world countries and the inner-city in areas of resource conservation and innovative organic gardening techniques. These are exciting days in which to live; uncertain and perilous, but exciting.  We invite you to come visit and see the facilities and hear first hand how the Lord is using this special place for His glory.
